General
Comments:

Intolerant of alkaline soil. A fast-growing floriferous species which requires pruning after flowering. Plant several together for effect. Open erect shrub, young branchlets and underside of leaflets either smooth or sparsely hairy. The plant is so vigorous that it is unusual for it to be set back in any way by pests or diseases.

Birds like the seeds and the insects it attracts. Food plant for caterpillars.
