Foliage:Leaves reduced to a tight basal sheath to 15 cm long, dark brown to reddish-brown towards the base,
Flowers:Reddish flowers, December-March. Loose flowerhead of widely spaced flowers on drooping branchlets; 6 stamens. Main bract continues above flowers for 40 cm. Capsules reddish- to golden-brown, longer than flower.
General
Comments:
Tufted perennial rush spreading from underground stems to form arching clump. Lax shiny bright green stems to 2mm diam. with slightly raised ridges. Pith white, cobwebby, continuous. A delicate rush for damp gardens and beside water areas. Tolerates dryness once established.
