Foliage:Narrow erect flat leaves 8-55 cm x 2-10 mm, sometimes with brown margins and maroon bases. Convex on one surface.
Flowers:Terminal clusters of 2-6 of bluish-purple or white flowers, 3 outer lobes larger and spreading, 3 inner lobes small, erect. Stems longer than leaves to 85 cm. Flower clusters surrounded by 2 brown to black bracts, September-January

Comments:
Compact tufting perennial herb. Frog habitat.
