Indigenous Plant Use:The grassy leaves have an edible base, the young roots are sweet and while the flowers provided nectar the flower stems were used as light-weight spears.CAUTION: Many plants are poisonous if not collected and prepared properly

Foliage:Green to blue-green loosely arching grass-like leaves to 1m long x 2-4mm wide growing from the base of the plant at ground level.
Flowers:Dense clusters of yellowish, strongly scented flowers arranged in a spike 5-20cm long held on a slender stem. Plants may bear several spikes, flowering from November to February.
General
Comments:
A slow growing ornamental specimen for containers, rockeries or growing en masse under trees. Flowers well after fire.  Provides Nectar for butterflies and other insects.
