Foliage:Rosette of dull green, oblong to egg-shaped leaves, 3-6 cm x 5-12 mm, broader towards the tip, long tapering stalk-like base, 15-21 scalloped teeth on margins. Non-hairy.
Flowers:Single purpleish-green terminal daisy flowerhead on stalks much shorter than leaves while in flower, lengthening in fruit to just beyond leaves. Flowers any time.

Comments:
Perennial herb. Tolerates seasonal inundation. Small gardens. Plant en masse for effect.
